I will dominate 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
