Battlefield 6 Gamers Are Convinced: Challenges Are Overly Demanding

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, notably for its premier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. However, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with a portion of the release's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.

Users have commenced resorting to tailored sessions created through Battlefield Portal to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how arduous these challenges have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Assignments

Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four categories of assignments, but although many merely grant outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of getting a dozen out of forty-one main guns present in the game.

Some of these locked weapons might eventually earn a place on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash on Reddit

On Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This mission is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Additionally, hipfiring an LMG is highly imprecise and only works at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you aim to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Extremely Difficult Task

One more community participant highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, within the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with sniper rifles

This is difficult enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it restricts you to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and maybe a classic map in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away.

The Bypass

There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.

But when completing the missions in a standard match appears to work against fun, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for finishing these in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Future Adjustments

It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because if they're not, some players simply won't get their hands on the restricted guns.

For now, the audience continues to express their views on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a less arduous player experience in future updates.
